Audience: Grades 6-12 Mathematics Educators
This 6-day professional learning series is designed for teachers in grades 6–12 seeking to strengthen students’ number sense and deepen mathematical understanding beyond procedural fluency. Participants will actively engage in rich, classroom-ready thinking tasks as learners, experiencing firsthand the types of mathematical experiences that promote reasoning, flexibility, and conceptual understanding across secondary content.
Throughout the sessions, teachers will explore strategies for eliciting and making student thinking visible, while engaging in structures and routines that support meaningful mathematical discourse. Emphasis will be placed on practical application, with opportunities to plan for implementation and reflect on instructional moves that foster deeper engagement.
Participants will leave with a collection of high-quality tasks, instructional strategies, and tools to support ongoing shifts toward thinking-centered mathematics classrooms.
