Finding a Session
Use the Search feature to find a specific session by title or keyword, or use the filters on the side of the page to narrow the available sessions and find opportunities that meet your needs.

Registering for a Session
When you find a session you would like to attend, simply click the session to add it to your schedule. Adding a session to your schedule automatically registers you for that session.

Registering for a Series
If you are attending a multi-session series, search for the series title to quickly locate all related dates. Be sure to select each session/date you plan to attend.

You can return to this SCHED event throughout the year to explore new opportunities, manage your schedule, and access updated session information and resources.

Beyond Procedures: Cultivating Deep Number Sense in Secondary Mathematics - Session 6

Audience: Grades 6-12 Mathematics Educators

This 6-day professional learning series is designed for teachers in grades 6–12 seeking to strengthen students’ number sense and deepen mathematical understanding beyond procedural fluency. Participants will actively engage in rich, classroom-ready thinking tasks as learners, experiencing firsthand the types of mathematical experiences that promote reasoning, flexibility, and conceptual understanding across secondary content.

Throughout the sessions, teachers will explore strategies for eliciting and making student thinking visible, while engaging in structures and routines that support meaningful mathematical discourse. Emphasis will be placed on practical application, with opportunities to plan for implementation and reflect on instructional moves that foster deeper engagement.

Participants will leave with a collection of high-quality tasks, instructional strategies, and tools to support ongoing shifts toward thinking-centered mathematics classrooms.

New Teacher Network - Session 9

The New Teacher Network is a professional learning series specifically designed to support educators in their first five years of teaching as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to create engaging and effective learning environments.

Grounded in high-leverage teaching practices, this professional learning community provides powerful opportunities for collaboration, reflection, and practical application of research-based instructional strategies. As a foundational benefit, all participants will receive a copy of the book The New Teacher Network by Berit Gordon.

Each session connects theory to practice through interactive discussion, shared problem-solving, real-world classroom scenarios, and peer collaboration.

Throughout the series, teachers will:
- Strengthen their ability to build respectful relationships with students and families.
- Reflect on and strengthen classroom routines, expectations, and small-group
learning management.
- Design impactful lessons that directly support student growth.
- Explore and utilize valuable instructional resources available within the Bay-
Arenac region.

Cost: $200.00 per person for the series
