This follow-up professional learning session builds on last year’s Desmos
training, providing secondary educators with deeper exploration of Desmos
tools, new features, and advanced strategies to enhance math instruction.
Participants will:
• Dive into the Desmos Graphing Calculator, including new features like regressions, complex numbers, normal curves, and inferential statistics.
• Explore Desmos activities and learn how to effectively facilitate and adapt them for classroom use.
• Edit existing Desmos activities and build custom lessons from scratch to meet specific student needs.
• Gain hands-on experience with the Geometry Tool and practice creating tasks that leverage its dynamic features.
• Engage in interactive tasks like Polygraph (Parabolas) to promote student reasoning and discourse.
This session will help educators develop confidence in using Desmos for
instruction, assessment, and student engagement while providing practical
strategies for integrating Desmos into daily teaching practices.
